What is a Noun?

(1) PEOPLE

Nouns are words naming people. They are the names of people, like your favorite cartoon casts, Upin & Ipin and the most famous movie and cartoon cast, Mr.Bean,

There are the names of places, like the well-known landmark of Kuala Lumpur - KLCC Twin Tower and the third longest bridge in South East Asia -Penang Bridge.

(3) ANIMALS

Dear kids, what would you see when your parents bring you to a Zoo? You will be seeing a lot of animals. Could you help Teacher Teoh to name these animals from below picture?

CONCRETE NOUNS

Nouns that you can touch and feel are also known as concrete nouns. Here are more examples of concrete nouns.

The concrete nouns previously introduced are countable. That means that you can count them. There are also uncountable concrete nouns. These are nouns which cannot be counted and they cannot be represented by a number.
